How to Find Your Windows Product Key

If you’re planning to re-install Windows on your computer you are going to want to have your product key handy. Here’s how you can find your product key.

Command Prompt

  1. Open Command Prompt by pressing Win+R and typing cmd or by searching cmd in your Start Menu
  2. Type wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey and press Enter
  3. Your product key should be displayed

*Note that newer versions of Windows (Windows 10 & Windows 11) don’t always have a product key as they may be licensed using a digital license.
